Pros:Nice Location, everything you could need under one roof!
Cons:Very large, it take some time to get around.
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend the Westin Stamford for it's comfort and accessibility to the city of Singapore.
In March 2001 we had the pleasure of staying at the Westin Stamford Hotel in Singapore. A very large hotel complex with everything that you could possibly need or want located inside the hotel. From floor after floor of shops of all different types, to restaurants that cater to every taste, including exceptional food and views from the restaurant atop this huge complex, beautiful views at sunset. If I could find one drawback to this hotel it would be the actual size and the time it takes you to get from one side to the other.
The rooms, although nothing I would call extra special, had every amenity that you could ask for from slippers and robes to toiletries, hair dryer and sewing kits. From an extra large safe to iron and ironing board. Also a refrigerator and mini bar, of coarse. Our room was located on the 21st floor with a beautiful balcony facing the water, a fabulous view.
One thing I have to admit, they do have the softest sheets that I have ever felt, and that is a welcome to any traveler that needs to snuggle in and get some well deserved rest.
Our luggage was delivered promptly by very courteous porters. Checking in/out went very quickly without any problems.
Located directly across the street from the Raffles Hotel makes it easy to stop in for that renowned Singapore Sling that they are so famous for.
Shopping is close by with numerous places to buy all of those little gifts that you must take home with you, that is if you can't find what you are looking for inside the hotel complex.
Located about 10 minutes from the cruise terminal and about 20 minutes from the airport, it is in a very good location for someone who wants to see a lot in a short time.
