I've just started looking into which portable mp3 player to buy and read your review. I've read a couple of reviews now and they have been helpful but no one is mentioning the i-pod. Is this because it is not very good? It seems the most advertised and therefore the most common is the i-pod but people like yourself are not mentioning it. Are the other players better?

you discuss it very briefly but in no detail. Most people I know consider that the most important feature (must have CF, MMC, etc. depending on what their other devices use).
