I am a minimalist when it comes to skincare. I don’t want to spend a lot of time using different treatments, trying to tap into the fountain of youth. I just want the fountain of youth to come up to me, tap me on the shoulder, and “say here I am, use me, I’m easy” Actually, I think someone once used that as a pickup line on me (with no success). I also don’t want to use a bunch of different products in order to achieve that healthy young glow we all crave. Now, I realize I may not have very realistic expectations of my skin care line, but darn it, why does it have to be so complicated?
So imagine my delight when I found a product that works as an exfoliator, moisturizer, and sunscreen, all in one! I kid you not! That is what Anew Advanced All-In-One Self Adjusting Perfecting Lotion claims to do, and I found it lives up to its claims!
I first started using this product on my sensitive, combination skin almost a year ago, when I was searching for skincare products, trying to beautify myself for my upcoming wedding. I had been told that I needed to hydrate my skin and I needed to exfoliate as well. After trying a lot of different products which made my skin greasy, or irritated, I stumbled across this. I was also concerned about sun protection because, although I used to worship the sun, I have become very frightened about skin cancer and premature aging.
Avon’s Anew Advanced All-In-One Self Adjusting Perfecting Lotion claims to be an oil-free moisturizer, with AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), to remove dead skin cell build up, and a sunscreen with SPF of 15. What more could I ask for?
It comes in a clear glass bottle with a pump. It instructs you to apply the product to your face and neck after cleaning. Your skin should be completely dry, don’t ask me why, I always thought moisturizers work best on damp skin, but I follow the directions.
After a few weeks of using this product, I noticed that my skin was more hydrated, and the dull build up of skin cells was gone. My skin actually looked better. I had more of that fresh glow we all want to keep forever. I also found that my face was not getting as tan as my arms, which I don’t protect from the sun, unless I am going to be outside for extended periods. So I must say I was very pleased.
You can buy this product at the Avon website at www.avon.com, or by contacting your local Avon representative. Be aware that Avon often has sales and specials and I was able to buy it for half price, but even at full price, which is $16, it is well worth it.
If you have dry skin, there is also an Anew Advanced All-In-One Self Adjusting Perfecting cream, which is supposed to be for dry skin. I have not tried it, so I cannot comment on it.
