Surgery Makes Sense!
Written: May 25 '01
Pros:To the point, has all the basics, great review questions
Cons:Not as detailed as some other books, related chapters are not grouped together
The Bottom Line: I recommend this book to anyone who wants a review in surgery. It covers all the important topics in a logical, concise way.
"Blueprints for Surgery", much like the other books in the Blueprints series, is a wonderful book for a quick, concise review for medical students. It's great for bringing along during a surgery rotation through the hospital and for studying for an exam. It highlights all of the important points in each topic. This book has wonderful tables for quick reference. One drawback is that the chapters are listed alphabetically, not in a related fashion like other books.
The newest edition of this book has review questions at the end that resemble Board questions. Explanations to all of the questions follow which is also a great way to learn.
I recommend this book to any medical student doing a surgery rotation, taking a surgery exam, or studying for the Boards.
