Pros: Had decent service. Service was better than Sprint PCS.
Cons: Not many phones to choose from, No wireless web. Service area could be bigger
The Bottom Line: I would RECOMMEND PrimeCO(Unlimited calls for $49.00/month). But, I am use to the wireless web(I use it for work). BUT, Thinking SPRINT would be better, I was GRAVELY Mistaken.

| regularopinion's Full Review: PrimeCo Mobile Phone Service in Chicago |
!!!ATTENTION!!! In this review, I am basically stating that I am no longer with PrimeCO, but that I am with SPRINT PCS instead. But, Sprint PCS is not better than PrimeCO and I wish that I would have never joined Sprint PCS due to their LACK of Service.
I started with PRIMECO Way back in December of '99. I left Primeco for Sprint last August because Sprint Had a better service plan, and better phones. Primeco had a so-so service, and few phones to choose from. But, I wanted the wireless web(a really cool/helpful feature). Primeco was OK. A few no service problems here and there. But, I mainly left because I had a phone that I had to have replaced three times. I asked if I could just pay the difference to buy another phone that wouldn't break as much and was told I couldn't. PLUS, I needed more minutes and Sprint had a better service plan. So, I decided to go for Sprint.
A HUGE!!! MISTAKE. Sprint started out OK when I first got them in August. Then, as I have heard from many people, I started getting dropped calls, dead air, echos, and a whole slew of other problems. I called Sprint repeatedly, only to get answers that my 7 year old nephew could have gave me. But, I only had one Billing error(a big problem I hear from other customers). Then, it got to a point where I basically couldn't use my phone because it never worked. And that really annoyed me because I was paying $90-$95 a month for service I wasn't getting and it effected my job. The one thing that made me want to SNAP though, was when I was told by one person in customer service to try calling my phone from a land line to see if landlines were effected by the same service problems. So, I did just that and I still had the same problems. But, When I called a week later and told a service representative, she kinda made me feel stupid and kept saying "Why would/did you keep calling your phone knowing it was dropping calls." I kept telling her I was told to do so by customer service. Then, She basically got ride of me.
So, In my opinion, PrimeCO was good to me when I had them from 12/99 to 8/2000. Sprint, on the other hand, I wish I never would have gotten involved with. The only good thing I got from Sprint was the Samsung-8500. A VERY GOOD cell phone.
Sprint may have more features/phones than PrimeCO, but what good are those bonuses if the service is BAD and you can't get to enjoy those services/features. PrimeCo may not be the best cell phone service in Chicago, but they do have the best deal. $49.99/month for Unlimited minutes. I think that's with a 1-year contract, but it is worth it. I'm thinking of going back to them, if they let me :)
