The Bottom Line I only have 5 albums on here because 10 would take forever.

Yeah i know im to lazy to write about the top ten best punk albums. But hey man I have better things to do than sit in front of this computer all day. So here we go the top "Punk" albums of my time and what makes them so good. Your not going to see any RAMONES or Sex Pistols in here, because that was before my time. I still dig those bands but i do not believe i can fully appreciate an album that came out before i was born. So this is a little pre-epinion appology to all the old schoolers out there.

5. Blink 182 Dude Ranch

Skater punk is defined. People have lots of names for what Blink does (pop punk, sh*t, ect.) but i believe they brought somthing to punk rock that no one else did. What might you ask did they bring? An undieing sence of humor about everything. I was supporting Blink when Cheshire Cat came out and i thought it was great. I knew they would go places. The humor and the sence of realism was somthing lots of people related to. It just made sence. I must admit that after this album came out Blink went the road more traveled and sold out but they still rock and still have a knack for telling it like it feels not like it is.

4. Greenday Dookie

When this album droped everyone went punk (or at least they thought they did). There were a lot of kids dyeing their hair green and wearing their grandpa's old sweaters in my school after they saw their first Greenday video. That was fine with me i figured hey if they think there punk thats cool but they can not hang with me. Greenday brought lyrics kids could not understand and still went huge. The funniest thing about this album is it was no where near as good as Kerplunk but you thought it was. No one ever accused Greenday of being punk before the album dropped but everyone said they sold out ofter it did. Figure that one out.

3. Sublime 40oz to Freedom

So the album was not exactly punk. It was more regge but thats cool. All music has its branches. This album really defined the drug and alchol users in punk at the time. With its melodic beats and semi-insane style of guitar people found Sublime interesting and fresh compared to everything that was getting play at the time. Not to mention this album was the absolute (and probably still is) best album to listen to when you were smoking grass. I think i bought two copies as a matter of fact one for my car and one at home.

2.Fenix TX Fenix TX

Inside this album was the key to a timeless classic. In 20 years this album will be looked back on with great fondness and thats the truth. They almost seemed like a Blink rip off until you heard the whole album. No comparison!! These guys were heavier funnier and smarter than Blink. I had been followin them for quite sometime before they were Fenix TX, back when they were still River Fenix. They have proven their relevence in the punk world, and their staying power at the sametime. With insane live shows great albums and pretty stellar guitar riffs that most people can play they have conqured the pop punk sterio type and proven once and for all skater punk is good sh*t.

1. Nirvana Nevermind

I do not need to explain this one but if you have a problem with it being on my list F*CK OFF.

So there you have it essential punk albums of this generation. Now go out and buy them.
