I waited in much anticipation to get my highly rated E815. Big disappointment. Right out of the box, sound quality from the handset was awful. The receiver sound is garbled. And my friends say that they can't hear me clearly - sounds like I am under water. Using the headset clears up the problem. I got a tiny tiny tiny bit of water in the phone before I had a chance to bring the phone to Verizon. They refused to honor the warranty because it had gotten wet. Fair enough - I know I can't prove the sound quality was terrible from the beginning. But trust me, it was. And I get echoing. I don't know if that's the phone, or Verizon.
I thought the videos and pics from the phone could be downloaded onto my pc. It can't. I was told Verizon has Motorola disable that feature. I think so you have to pay to have the feature activated. Pretty crummy deal.
Camera phone is pretty cool as is the video. Resolution isn't so great, altho I haven't seen other camera phones so I don't have anything to compare to. Res is nowhere near that of a regular camera or camcorder. But considering it's a phone - not a camcorder, it's still pretty cool. You must buy a memory card in order to take up to 3 min video clips. Without a card, I think you're limited to something like 15 second clips
Let me clear up something which I could never get an answer on: is there a flash for the camera or not? I have found conflicting information. But now that I own the phone, I can give you the real deal: There is a LED light you can turn on to add a little light to a picture. Works great as an emergency flashlite! But it is not an actual flash which probably limit's its useful distance. So there you have it. No flash, but a small spotlight.
