Pros: Great graphics and sound, easy to learn, good replay value

Star Wars Starfighter is one of the best games put out for PlayStation 2 So far. It is a combination first person shooter, and flying games. It is really good, but would you expect any less from George Lucas and the Star Wars franchise. The game is simple, you are given missions where you have to preform several tasks. There are 14 levels in the regular mode. Over the course of the game you get to fly three different types of ships as one of three pilots. There are also bonus levels that rock. One bonus level sends you racing through a canyon, and if you beat all the others a huge hotrod appears. You get them by completeing bonus objectives, such as beating a level in a set time. All in all the game play is excellent.
As for the rest of the game it is pretty good too. There is a story line that connects each of the missions, and while it is simple it is pretty good. Graphics are incredible, they really show off the power of the Ps2. Most of the levels have full, top quality sound, including fully spoken voices of characters. For me one of the best qualities is that there is a fair level of replay value. Just because you beat the level doesn't mean you can't do better. In fact, you have to do better in order to unlock all the bonus levels.
