This site is, well, erm, good for indicating mood?
And that's it. Very cute, you get yourself a little indicator to stick on your site so the whole world wide web can find out how you're feeling. And you can add a personal note to elaborate on this mood. Let me leap up and down for joy! Fabulous! Erm.
Spot the slight sarcasm? I don't so much have objections to this site as wondering why it exists in the first place. Although you get your little mood indicator, there's not much else you can do with it. It gives you recommended books for your mood (the hassle of buying it just for a mood doesn't seem worth it somehow). It gives you recommended links, which I think are meant to empathize with your mood. It gives you the opportunity to search for other people with the same mood, or search randomly. And the purpose of all this?
The internet doesn't have to be impersonal and mechanic. The internet can also be a place where you come to learn about yourself and your friends. That's what we hope imood.com can do for you!
Very touching. But to be honest, I don't think that having a mood indicator and a personal mood history is going to teach you much about yourself or others. After all, you know what your own moods are - it was you who put the moods into your indicator in the first place, so why on earth are you going to want to look back to analyse your mood over time? I like the indicator, but only as a pretty sticker to add to my website. I'm not expecting it to connect me with people, I have an on-line diary for that. Perhaps it's a little two-faced to criticize it as I am a user, but I get the feeling that all this site has really done is take up the time of someone who could have been doing something more worthwhile, like learning to knit, perhaps.
Then again, you could argue that there are more worthwhile things to do than write opinions on sites that have achieved very little! Hand me my knitting needles...
