I bought this miserable thing in June of 2000, and everything went well for 6 months.

Then it started dropping calls with a loud POP in the earpiece. It is annoying enough to lose a call, but to have your eardrums blasted out every time it happens adds insult to injury.

At first the dropped calls occurred only frequently, and then quickly the problem got worse to the extent that the phone was next to unusable.

The phone was repaired under warranty, but it took 5 weeks for me to get it back -- rather a long time to wait. Additionally, the people at the dealership were surly and seemed irritated at having to deal with the problem.

Four months later, the thing started to recharge only erratically on the car charger. I suspected that dust might have gotten into the socket for the charger, and used contact cleaning fluid. That helped for a week, and then the problem started again.

Now it won't charge at all on the car charger.

To complicate it more, it has resumed dropping calls and blasting out eardrums in the process.
