Help! I'm leaving for SF in one week for a long weekend on a very limited budget and would love to have the names and locations of some of the cheap, good food-type restaurants. It sounds like you may have another list of recommendations from others posted on the web.

Thanks.

Great scenery, upgraded toilet, and authentic waterfront atmosphere goes along with the cheap eats.

And thanks to you too, Carol.

I hope he finds this list helpful - although some of these places aren't the best or in quite divey, questionable neighborhoods, they're all cheap!

You should also check out mr.eyore and macresarf1 who write delicious San Francisco reviews.

Thanks again!

I shall e-mail your review to my daughter-in-law to give to her brother is going to San Francisco soon. He loves to eat and these places sound quite inexpensive with good food.

Thanks again and...your review is so very thorough I had to change the VH to a MH.

chuckle, chuckle.

That's why we're all going to hell in a handbasket. Two vices right there - gluttony and er, avarice? (OK, not really, but what would Dante say?)

Why thanks, Suzanne. I'm really thankful (and so are my tastebuds) that I live in San Francisco. There are probably hidden treasures in NC - you just have to hunt...

Thanks, Mark.

inexpensive authentic ethnic restaurants - (say that 10x fast) are the best. I love finding places like that; I become loyal and I love taking people there.

This is one of the most interesting, and informative, reviews I've read in a very long time! You are soooo very lucky to have all of that variety at your fingertips! Here in my small NC town, we have hamburger joints and barbecue joints. So consider yourself lucky, and I will just have to live vicariously through you!
