Yes, I agree that "accidents" happen no matter what knife you use. However, accidents are more apt to happen if you aren't comfortable with the utensil being handled.
Some types of cutlery feel awkward no matter who handles them. Some types are "bulky" to the user while others feel "flimsy". It's just a matter of how you feel while handling such a sharp object.
(PS...would you shave with just "any razor"? I doubt it. Again, it's just a matter of comfort.)

You can't honestly blame the design of the knife if by accident, it slips from your work place and punctures your foot. Can you? I mean, some things just happen. What happened to you is unfortunate, I agree, but, is it common? I haven't heard about it happening to anyone else I know, so therefore, it falls into the category of Infrequent Accident Reports.
I hope your foot is mending well and in the future you have a firm grip on the knife. There isn't a chef in the world that wouldn't suggest otherwise.

Gasman

..that I never thought of was how easy the handle is to hold if your hands get slick!
Until after purchasing a knife set that is....
Nice editorial!
