If you are like me, you probably participate in at least a couple of contest sites. I have played Freelotto ever since I found it a couple years ago and have won an occasional dollar. I actually won a Logitech Quick-cam Pro in a drawing on Iwin.com which is valued at about $100.00 give or take. But I refuse to participate in the myriad of lottery games that have sprung up since Freelotto proved to be so successful. Mainly because of the baggage they carry with them. The baggage of being bombarded with Emails from them every day. Webstakes, however has this Scratch-and-Win game that doesn't take much time to play and is easier than entering six or seven numbers, clicking an advertisement, and waiting for verification while watching the advertisement appear. But WEBSTAKES has given me HEADACHES!
The current game is called "Scratch 4 Cash" but the name of the game changes from time to time. Regardless the title, the game is basically the same and is BUGGY! The game is merely a rectangular game board which you use your cursor to "scratch off". If you reveal three identical money values you are supposed to win that amount. The game is supposed to go to a claiming screen when this happens.
Three times I have "apparently" won on this game. By "apparently" I mean that three like dollar amounts appeared when I scratched it off. Once the amount was $50.00. On another occasion it was $10.00. On the third occasion it was $1.00. The game did NOT go to the claiming screen in ANY of these instances.
I, of course, contacted the site reporting what occurred. In the case of the $50.00 and $10.00 they said that the entry numbers did not match for that amount. In the $1.00 incident they said that the game had made an error and I really did win the $1.00 which they did send to me. The point is.....it is very disappointing to seemingly win a game and then find that you did not.
If you require more evidence of BUGS, bear with me. Besides the money values, you can also win bonus plays of the game. You get 5 plays per day but can win three bonus plays on the scratch-off screen. The other night I was playing the game and incredibly won a total of nine bonus plays. It was late so I didn't bother to use the bonus plays at that time. The game normally keeps track of how many bonus plays you have. Today, (5/28/01) when I went to the site, the screen tells me that I have my five regular plays but says that I only have SIX bonus plays. Therefore I lost three bonus plays.
I didn't really consider losing the three bonus plays that big a deal because you win three bonus plays fairly often when you play the game. So I just started playing my normal five game plays. On the fourth play I got an error message from the game that said I should report the incident to the game administrator. I went through that routine and returned to the game. Suddenly the screen tells me that I have NO normal game plays left and only TWO of my bonus plays left. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
I have reached the limit of my frustration level with this site!
