Review has a balanced perspective, but.. (Reply to this comment)

I agree alot with your review - particularly for playing at low volumes solid state w/ stop boxes or effects is probably fine, and for many modern sounds solid state is the only way to get to the sound.
But there is some magic mojo that the tube amps have when trying to get classic rock sounds. Some of the reputation that tube amps have is probably hype, but underneath there's something there. I can't put my finger on what it is, but I think most rock guitarists are going to go tube at some point and not come back. Again, all imho.
I was a solid state guy for many many years, but especially with the lower price/lower powered tube amps more common now I'd have to encourage most rock oriented guitarists to give them a serious listen.

I'm just a new electric guitarist looking for tone, and trying to figure out if I want a tube or solid state amp. Your reviews help! Thanks.

After days of searching for some straight talk about the pros and cons of tube and solid state guitar amp setups this review answered many questions. I would rate it as very helpful.
