The Differences

The Bottom Line Keep things at bay. Eat healthy and hope that your body likes what you have fed it.

It is amazing that completing the first trimester of my second pregnancy how different they already are. With my son Kieran I was fairly well until the end of my second month. At that time the sickness started and didn't revolt until the beginning of the fourth month.

So far I have been quite comfortable. I have gotten a little sea sick a few times, but nothing coming up - which is wonderful.

I was just speaking to a friend of mine today who is also pregnant and she can't believe how opposite her second pregnancy is also. She wasn't sick with her first and is now really feeling it. At home, relaxing and hoping to keep as much of her food down as possible.

It is truly amazing how the body works. The weirdest of all is that there is nothing that you can do to stop it. In many ways getting sick is your body's way of telling you to stay away from certain foods, unconsciously of course. It would never just come outright and tell you, "hey-stay away from that. I am warning you now."

While the body will do what it needs to do, there are a few things you can try to quel those unwanted pangs. Eat well-blanced meals. I try to eat about four meals a day, separating them is easier on the stomach so that I don't feel so full, and I have been so hungry that it keeps all nausea at bay. Having something light in my stomach at all times seems to really help me with morning sickness, afternoon sickness, night sickness....

So, a first pregnancy that is awesome doesn't guarantee this for the second time around, or afterwards. My biggest question here is how different will the children be?

I have a while to wait for this answer. I will let you know.

Thanks for reading.
