Last night I had Mouton Cadet 1998. Utterly forgettable. I agree with the reviewer above that you shouldn't be duped by the fancy Rothschild name. There's no 'bouquet', tastes simply unidimensional --"gulpable" (like water), very succinctly put by the reviewer. The wine does not taste astringent, but no one should make the mistake of calling this wine 'smooth'.

At that price range you should simply go for New World wines. Any Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon from California, Chile, or Argentina will beat this wine senseless.
