| calandrino's Full Review: Arcam AVR200 Receiver |
I am probably like most people and wanted the best 2 channel audio and surround sound. I narrowed it down to the Denon 2106, Denon 3805, Arcam AVR250. Both the Denon recievers had great surround sound, but after listening to the Arcam AVR250 the Denon 2 channel audio was very bright sounding and just did not have the clarity of the Arcam. I then found a shop that had a Arcam avr200 that was less expensive than the Arcam avr250 (almost half the price. I did have to be willing to give up 7.1 surround as the avr200 is only a 5.1 reciever, but I don't really see myself using more than 5.1 in my family room. I also had to be willing to have the word "Tape Monitor" on my receiver. Sounds silly but after thinking about that for a while I went with the Arcam avr200 and I have it paired with a set of Mission M34's, the matching centre a JBL Sub and Sat's. My Dream has come true I now have a great sounding 2 channel audio whih I listen to more than ever. And the surround sound is equally impressive. This reciever has got to be the best receiver in its class.
