NetZero (Reply to this comment)
by hobieknobe
Ready to make a change in my dial-up ISP after many years, I chose a 30 day trial of NetZero's new HIGH SPEED thingy. NICE girl signed me up and answered all my question intelligently and promptly. Sounded good.
First trials had some un-authorized log-offs but I thought it was from trying to log another computer on at the same time here in my home. That is clearly not allowed.
Second night, it would not log on at all. Kept saying "cannot dial" so I tried my old ISP which I was smart enough to keep for a while. NetZero would not allow my old ISP to do anything. I called support. The message said to give my credit card information & number and support would be billed against it @ $2 per minute!!!! Finally got their sales people and cancelled everything. They offered me 2 free months and free support. Thanks, but no thanks!
But I could not clear the program off my computer. It still blocked my other ISP from logging on. the sales person was still there but said it would cost me $2/minute for them to tell me how to erase the junk they put on my computer. "YOU are no longer a member sir, and we charge for our support!!!"
Try NetZero at your peril and risk.

net zero is just that (Reply to this comment)
by erikkthered
Recently, my future wife and I decided to switch to net zero. Why not save some cash, and surf? It seemed reasonable enough as we were going through some tough times. At first, we were able to connect and stay on line, and dealt with slow loading pages. When we were able to upgrade to high speed at a fraction of the cost of other services, I thought that I was getting a good deal. Not really. After two days, I normally cannot connect, and if I can, I usually get bumped off within 20 minutes. All said and done the reviewer That I am responding to has said a mouth full. I totally agree. For what I am going through on net zero, I can easily go back to AOL for the same lousy service.

If my ISP weren't (Reply to this comment)

much better for $22/month, I'd claim this was an example of getting what you pay for... :)
Thanks for an excellent review of the service -- I'll refer this info to family members who use Juno but are not terribly happy with it.
Thanks for participating in the rewriteoff.

NetZero Platinum service (Reply to this comment)
by cheetah1
yes I get a lot of bugs trying to start up my platinum service but netzero's service was a total joke in my area before but they have improved. The free bar comes up unwanted a few times but that's no biggie. I still get much more bang for my buck with platinum than an expensive provider like aol. They are dishonest and mislead you when you sign leading you to think you pay month by month. They fool everybody on this issue!
