Ordering was fairly easy, though one should expect to get bombed with several special offers, and repeated attempts for you to become ---"A Member." Sadly--the golf cart I ordered for a buddies retirement party was not only a tad slow in delivery time, but defective as well. Worst part was that I ordered it several months in advance, but I didn't want to open it too early, and risk dinging the darned thing. Giving dented goods for someone's retirement is simply poor taste. Giving defective goods, however, is even worse.
I assembled the cart the day of the party and unwittingly tossed the box. Brand new, not reconditioned, who'dve thought I'dve needed that giant shipping box around my house taking up space anyway? We were certainly glad to get the space back the day I assembled the cart. Turns out that I should've saved that darned shipping crate afterall.
Assembly of the product was easy, and everything seemed to be of fairly high quality. Unfortunately, two weeks later my buddy calls me and says the right wheel keeps falling off of this thing, and since I'm the one that got it, could I please return it and get him another one. I went over to his house, inspected it, and sure enough the wheel is milled too deep for the socket. Suffice it to say that though the wheel appears to lock in place properly, it will work itself out of the socket, and down will come baby, golf clubs and all.
I called customer service, who pulled up my records in a quick and efficient manner. They told me that they would not issue me a refund since it had been a while, but they would waive the re-stocking fee (how bloody generous)as long as I paid to ship it back.(OUCH) I did so, and as with the first one, the second cart was slow in coming back. It was not only a working model, but an upgrade--YIPPEE!
All in all I'd have to say that this was an ambiguous shopping experience in the sense that it worked out well, and I did save a few bucks. I was, however, subject to great embarassment by giving my ex-boss an initial P.O.S. and then having to find my own shipping crate and packing goods in order to get this returned. W/Out the upgrade, this would have been a two star experience at best.
