The Top 10

The Bottom Line Don't forget--its all about #10
OK, I'm not going to waste your time so lets get down to it:
1. Pride of the Yankees-the ultimate classic; its got gary cooper, bill dickey, and even babe ruth himself. One of the most memorable movies I've ever seen. maybe not the best 'hollywood' movie, but its all real and thats what matters. lou gehrig living and dying with dignity--absolutely incredible
2. Rudy-we're going to stick with the true story theme here. Want to see a guy cry? Rudy just wont give up and the movie will make you realize the power of perseverence. So good that it doesnt seem true.
3. Rocky-the American Dream come to life. A no good, bum on the street boxer gets the chaance of a lifetime, gets his life together, and makes history (no, this one's not real)
4. Field of Dreams-I'll ask you again, want to see a guy cry? the importance of baseball in american life, the importance of baseball in a father/son relationship. Forget free agency, arbitration, and incentive-lden contracts; you'll remember just why you started loving it back when you were 5.
5. Karate Kid-Another movie about the American Dream. An Okinowan man teaches a young Italian kid to defend himself against the blue-blooded americans in california. I'll give you one chance to guess who wins in the end
6. The Natural-A remake of the King Arthur tales (just think, the sword in the stone vs the tree in the tree, the white "Knight" vs the darker forces if evil). If the "fireworks" scene doesnt give you chills, check your pulse.
7. Rocky 4-aboslutely incredible (Maybe the best of the rocky's but you've gotta give the benefit to rocky 1). Rocky avenges the death of a friend and helps thaw out the Cold War with his "speech" at the end
8. Rocky 3-he's lost the "eye of the tiger"--can he get it back
9. Mighty Ducks-funny, light---Bad News Bears on Ice
9a. Bad News Bears-Walter Matthau as a crumudgeonly, old (oh wait, thats every movie). Mighty Ducks on Grass
10. That Bugs Bunny Baseball cartoon-forget Bo Jackson running along the wall and that minor leaguer running through it. Bugs actually climbs the Empire State Building to catch a ball---pretty impressive. And he strikes out the side on one pitch.
there you go. hope its helpful. Please also click on my name and check out some of my other reviews of movies (Rudy to name one), magazines, cars, colleges, and more.
