Revlon Colorstay

Written: May 31 '01
Pros:Stays Put, Full Coverage, Great For Oily Skin, Variety Of Shades
Cons:Difficult To Remove, Can Be Pricey(look for deals)
The Bottom Line: Don't get discouraged trying to use it. Work with it and see what works for you.

I tried this because I wanted something that didn't rub off. Every time I would get dressed, I would get foundation all over my clothes.

Because this foundation dries to a point where it won't rub off, it takes some getting used to. You apply it either lightly if you don't need alot of coverage or heavier if you do. But, you need to do it fairly quickly. Once the stuff dries, it is difficult making huge touch ups. I had trouble adjusting. You get used to makeups that you can just reapply over what is already there. Not this stuff! If you go swimming and some makeup comes off, don't try to just reapply it over what was there. It cakes and smudges up. Remove all makeup and start over. It took me a few days to really learn how to apply it. But, once I got the knack of it, I love it. It stays all day. I might have to make real minor touch ups around my eyes (contacts can get dry and I rub my eyes) and that is easy.

I tried several concealers with it and it just doesn't work for me. I have tried some of the top brands (with moisturizer) and all have creased. I have learned to just apply RC a little heavier under my eyes for concealer. It won't crease once dry and I can forget about it. Learn what is best for you... light-light rubbing to apply or patting). I find that original light rubbing in and patting for touch ups works best for me.

This stuff is so good, I don't mind paying the price for it. I would rather have my makeup stay where it's supposed to.

Last Notes: I gave this an Above Average rating. It would have got excellent if it was easier to remove. You can get as little or as heavy coverage as you need. I have pretty big pores and it did cause some clogging but, it only lead to an occasion breakout.

Tip: I use my fingers to apply it. Simply because it was wasted when I would use a sponge. You might be able to make bigger touch ups using the sponge. ;)
