You probably know the basics about PVR's - easy time shifting of the programs you want to watch. ReplayTV does a great job of this and allows you to customize what it records (and how) in an intuitive way. But the killer feature for me is unifying my satellite and cable TV services. ReplayTV creates a seamless program guild for up to 3 video sources of any combination (over the air antenna, cable, satellite.) This allows me to see all of the programming I subscribe to in one guide and watch/record it without complex and annoying switching. ReplayTV tames the complex home theatre setup and makes it a joy to use. Even my wife (who first reacted by saying "not another remote!") loves it and she does not like gadgets. Highly recommended. I plan on do-it-yourself upgrade from my 20 hour (20 GB) hard drive to 60 or 80 hours in the future. Easy upgrade is documented by enthusiasts on the internet for those computer upgrade inclined.
