Pros: A little narrower than a RAZR
Cons: Hard to see screen in bright light.
The Bottom Line: It's like they redesigned the RAZR into a different shell, added more features to kill your battery faster. Good for people who like toys on their phone.

| galileo365's Full Review: Motorola PEBL |
My kid got the Motorola PEBL, so we decided to temporarily trade phones to see which phone we both liked better.
Well,, after a couple weeks, we both decided that they're both of decent quality sound and reception wise, but the PEBL was easier to hold on to than the RAZR is. Not that it's much different in size, it's just slightly narrower so because I have such small hands, any width reduction for grip helps!
Between the two phones, the PEBL looks less utilitarian that the RAZR. But it does look like something from outer space.
The phone is a bit hard to open one handed (IE. One hand then use my mouth to flip it open,, ok,, I'm weird) It's more difficult because there's like a magnet holding the thing so it keeps shut. I'll be honest. I think it's somewhat pointless, because in all the years I've owned flip phones, I've never had one just pop open. They all stay shut pretty good, and I never noticed any magnetics on my other phones.
The sound quality is ok,, not excellent,, but average. The battery life we're unsure of because it seems in the standard tradition of Motorola,, when the battery is new it has LONG life, but as soon as six months pass, the thing gets weaker so only time will tell on that one and I'll update this article when it reveals its true life span.
The reception is above average in comparison with other cell phones I've owned like Kyocera, Sony/Ericsson, and Nokia, but no better than the RAZR.
Here's some of the stats of the phone
Quad band world phone (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
(Couldn't tell you what it is except that you can take it to othewr countries and use it)
Bluetooth® wireless technology (Walk around with a funky looking "thing" protruding from your head so people think you've been embedded with an alien mind probe)
Camera w/ 4x digital zoom
(Near or far, still lousy photos!)
Speakerphone. (Great for when someone who yaps continually for hours that you really don't want to talk to calls,, you can put the thing on speaker, put the phone down and get back to your video game and the person thinks your still listening as long as you throw in an occasional "Oh wow" "Uh huh", or "really")
Voice-activated functions Control your phone with your voice.
Instant messaging: AOL®, Yahoo!® and ICQ®* Send and receive instant messages with AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo!, or ICQ.
Phone book Store names and numbers for easy retrieval and dialing.
External caller ID See who's calling before you open the phone.
Easy text input Predictive text input helps you send messages faster by inserting words based on a few letters.(Something I find EXTREMELY annoying!,, I'd rather type it all myself!)
Full-color screen (But hard to see in daylight)
Alarm clock (It wakes ya up)
Calculator (It works great)
Vibrating alert
Calendar (Very useful)
Games (The screens so small you'll get a headache trying to play them.)
Text messaging
Picture messaging (A cool feature as long as you don't accidently take a pic of yourself on the toilet and send it to everyone in your phonebook including your employers)Ok,, I had to throw that in for "paranoia effect" You can't accidently do anything like that, but I thought it was funny just the same.
I'm sure there are more features than that but I only used it for a couple weeks before my kid wanted her phone back, and I'm not much of an "electronic phone toy" person.
If you like "toy packed phones" odds are you'll like this one.
