I searched for about 2 weeks for the perfect celular plan for me. When I signed up with Cingular, it seemed to foot the bill. I got free long distance, free nights and weekends, and I also got a free vibrating battery. (I had to coerce my way into that, but I got it) I went ahead and paid for the extended warranty and was told it didn't matter what happened to the phone, it would be covered. I asked again... "Will EVERYTHING be covered? Even if I screw something up and unprogram the thing?" The man told me that there was nothing not covered.
Well, after having the phone for a few months, I thought it would be wise to change my pin number... you know... you change your password on your aol account and all. Well, I didn't something terribly wrong and the "SIM card was Rejected". After calling the number that used to be my carrier, I found out that they had been bought out by Pac Bell. The logical thing to do then was to call Pac Bell. This was one more step to finding out eventually that the people who had sold me the phone and my service had been bought out a few times and finally wound up with Cingular.
Cingular told me that they were not responsible for the contract I had made with the original company and that the $25 SIM card was not covered by the Extended Warranty.
I have also had problems with service access. A good 75 percent of the time I am unable to make calls because I am in a no service area.
This phone has a lot of gadgets and gizmos, but it pretty much worthless when it comes down to the main reason I have it. If I were you, I would go with a different service plan.
