When a "wireless" phone is less expensive than "Verizon" you have to take notice! That's the case with ATT Wireless in the Boston region. I live on Cape Cod. The boon docks of Massachusetts and a Former haven for "cellular black holes", "No Service", "dropped carriers", even noisy digital connections as well as "over-loaded" circuits.
I was one of ATT Wireless's first customers out here! To activate my newly shipped phone over two years ago I had to drive to an ATT local service area...in Wareham, over 1 hour away! I did it and have been consistently rewarded for my patience.
I started with an ATT plan that cost only $29.95 a month. Because my service area is "enormous" meaning I can call virtually all of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and areas beyond like it is a local call, I have increased my plans minutes several times. Now I pay $49.99 plus $4.49 for Nights and weekends or $54.48 per month.
I get "local" calling to my fiancé 120 miles away, local calling to my parents 90 miles away, and local calling to everyone I know within a nuclear bomb blast of my home! My land-line with Verizon cost me 5 cents a minute and a minimum of $35.00 per month; the trade off is incredible!
What else? I set up my Motorola phone to receive news and weather as well as email notification, all included in the ATT rate! Additionally my plan includes voice mail and text messaging, all included at no additional cost.
Okay, all of these services sound great but if your phone can not catch a signal you might as well toss it into Cape Cod Bay! I complained to ATT Wireless 1-1/2 years ago. Whether it was my voice or the voices of thousands of other customers...they responded! New towers on Cape Cod, extensive "local" coverage, extremely reliable reception and ever increasing "great" service here at the end of Cape Cod! I'm impressed and extremely dedicated to ATT!
Why?
As my service needs increased I several times exceeded the total minutes my plan included. Huge surcharges incurred. I called ATT Wireless and they "retroactively" increased my service plan to include my unexpected increased usage, crediting to my account any difference not included in the lower plan! I think this is the most "customer sensitive" program they offer!
The Bottom Line: ATT Wireless in Boston/Cape Cod is a company that is exceeding all my expectation. Their promise for increased and more reliable service has proven true, their Customer Service is responsive and fair and their quality, albeit, towns that fight cell towers not included, is getting better and better monthly!
Great Service, great plans, what more can you ask?
