I am SO NOT IMPRESSED. A Frustrating waste of time and money

SEE BELOW ORIGINAL REVIEW FOR AN UPDATE:
I ordered a 32" Frigedaire ceramic cooktop and a 30" Frigedaire rangehood from AJ Madison on 8/3, which the website said was in stock. My order did not ship until 8/10, (which I could not track through their system OR UPS' until 2 days later).
When the cooktop finally arrived on 8/17 the ceramic surface was shattered. My husband called AJ Madison to report this, and they stated someone from Customer Service would get back to him. He runs a shipping system for a large firm, and knows how these things work, so when AJ Madison failed to return his call to give us direction on how they would like to handle this, he contacted UPS and we acquired a tracking number and returned the order to AJ Madison. We left a message with an employee at AJ madison stating when UPS was scheduled to pick up, and to contact us prior to that time if that wasn't acceptable.
We continued to try to contact AJ Madison's customer service department, and were finally told we should not have sent the order back to the original 'shipped from' address. When asked if they would return our money or replace the cooktop, they again stated that someone from customer service would have to contact us. When we again received no contact from AJ Madison, I tried to contact them twice last Wednesday and both times I was hung up on. Then I read the reviews on this website and others, and with all this information at hand I contacted my banks fraud department last Wednesday to have the funds replaced until we receive some form of resolution from this company. Lo and behold, AJ Madisons mysterious customer service representative contacted us after that, asking if we would like a replacement or refund, but we have yet to receive either notification of a refund being applied by their company, or a new cooktop being shipped.
In the meantime, I have a nice hole in my kitchen counter where my cooktop should have been. I have shopped on line with many companies and never had this much trouble. I will keep you updated on how they handle this from here on. At this time, I sincerely doubt that I will ever shop with this company again.
UPDATE: 3 weeks after the original return and after reporting this company to my banks fraud department, my bank received notification from AJ Madison that they were refunding my money for the cooktop. I then notified my bank that they could release the funds for the rangehood. But still...with the headaches with this company, I doubt I will ever buy from them again.
