Secured Credit Cards: Costly, but They Can Help Those With Bad Credit

They are not all costly; there are many programs today that have secured cards where the interest is minimal due to a higher annual fee, and due to the lack of risk to the lender.

In addition many offer very high credit limits, I've seen as high as $5000 as long as you are willing to cover it with your deposit.

There are also partially secured cards, and cards which increase your limit above your deposit until they feel they have established enough history to return your deposit.

Finally, most of us do not have really good credit; if that were true, I wouldn't have to delete they 25 messages every other day on "guaranteed credit" from my in boxes. And credit counseling aand reconsolidation companies would not be paying millions of dollrs for TV spots.
