Safety must come first when it comes to choosing a Dietary Supplement and I don't think HYRDOXYCUT is safe.

Hydroxycut Problems (Reply to this comment)
by cynthia111
If you have been or are currently using Hydroxycut supplements to diet or get in shape, you should know it's been recalled and is apparently very dangerous. This site has a lot of good information on its problems: http://www.hydroxycut-liver-damage-lawyer.com/

FDA issue STOP USING ORDER MAY1,2009 on HYDROXYCUT (Reply to this comment)
by digital_desk
Apparently Death occurred by 19 yr old using this product in 2007. Plus 23 other cases of Liver Damage have been reported.
The prior comments by the other Epinions.com user is well founded. Especially those that issued them in 2002. a 7 year jump on the FDA. Thank You & Good Luck to all.

Hydroxycut (Reply to this comment)
by luvmywhsd
I purchased a bottle at the grocery store to try ($24.99 for 72 rapid release caplets). So far, no side effects other than a decrease in appetite. The dosage on the caplets I have is 1 pill, 3x a day, 30-60 minutes before a meal for the first 3 days. On day 4, you increase to 2 pills, 3x a day, not to exceed 6 pills in a 24 hour period. I will increase to the 2 pills tomorrow. Wonder if some of the negative side effects that some of these people are experiencing to due to the dosage amounts? My BP averages in the 95-110 over 60-70 range and has remained in that average, even with taking the hydroxycut. We will have to wait and see if that changes after I increase my dosage. Thank you for the review.

Dosage (Reply to this comment)

I agree with people needing to research before use, but I was reading directions on the label and I believe it says not to exceed 6 in 12 hours... couldn't the side affects being felt be a result from taking too much?

Effect on blood pressure (Reply to this comment)
by greg234
I've tried hydroxycut hardcore twice now. The first time I was dieting and not exercising. I noticed a huge effect at the time, speeding up my heart rate, making me feel overheated and anxious. Yes, appetite did decrease also at least until the effect wore off.

I tried it again today and yesterday to get myself over a plateau of weight loss. It does seem to have helped accomplish this, but at what price?

I have my blood pressure measured regularly, and for the past 3 weeks it's been in the normal range and dropping even lower as I exercise regularly. Last week it was 116/76 at rest. Today I took 2 pills, then had my BP measured as usual, and it was *132/82* at rest. I was curious as to what effect it would have, and I think I got my answer. I should say that my systolic BP (the higher number) has been consistently in the 115-120 range for 3 weeks until today.

Keep in mind that your body normally relaxes your blood vessels during exersise to relieve strain on the heart and get more blood to your muscles. After exercise my blood pressure has been about the same as before, and systolic pressure even drops a bit.

I have a background in drug research, and one of the ingredients caught my eye - yohimbine. We used to use this in the lab, and it is actually prescribed for use in humans, but at high doses can be very dangerous. Basically, it blocks the feedback mechanism on your blood vessels and heart that prevents too much neurotransmitter from being released. Knowing what I know, I probably shouldn't be taking this supplement, but I admit that I've been desperate to lose weight.

After reading your review, I have to agree. This just isn't worth the risk. I am going to stick with diet and exercise. I'm glad I checked the effect on blood pressure though. Now I know the drastic effect this supplement can have after just 2 pills.

I have been using Hydroxycut for only a month and I usually take it ones a day, 3 capsules before my lunch. Still...I felt kind of weird in the last few days so I decided to stop taking it. Today to checking about the side effects of this product i red your comment and I m convinced that you are 100 per cent right. .I think I ll stick with my 4 pack too and thats it. I started a proper diet based on natural proteins and alot of exercises.I advise everyone else to do the same. Thanks..Ciao

Hydroxycut (Reply to this comment)
by opingirl36
I think that the one with caffeine is likely to be more unsafe,I am using caffeine-free. and it does not make me crazy, also I am only using it to lose weight.

Hydroxycut should not be used to lose weight in your stomach anyway, from what I was told.
I was told that relacore was good, but not sure of that product either.
alot of the products on the market, none are really safe anyway.
and you have to be careful of alot of things you use.

Hydroxy Cut (Reply to this comment)
by lmetayer
Personally I recommend staying away from it! My husband has been on it for around three weeks..and our marriage is going to hell. My husband in the almost two years we have been together has never ever raised his voice to me and well the last week or so...he has yelled at me and his mood swings oh my god have gone nuts! I don't recommend this stuff to anyone in fact all I do recommend is diet, excersise and regular normal vitamins. I told my husband about the research I did on the net while he was in one of his good moods...and he told me via phone while ago to toss his in the trash. So now I'm just going to sit back and wait for the effects to wear off so I can have my husband back.

Hydroxycut Ephedra Free (Reply to this comment)
by kaye0624
I've been using HEF for about a week now and I feel great..I have lots of energy and I sleep well at night. I take only 6 capsuls a day. 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. I have gone from 118 to 113 in less than a week. I have used Hydroxycut with Ephedra before and yes it made me nervous, heart raced and when it wore off I felt totally exhausted. But HEF is great..I would recommend it to anyone...And dont worry about a membership to a gym...you'll get plenty of exercise in your own home...you wont believe the things you'll be cleaning!!!

Forever grateful. Kim

The symptoms you described sound similar to how I felt when I took a pill form of asthma medication. I wouldn't want to try this even though the commercials sound intriguing. Too risky.

Very impressive review. I have an entire cabinet filled with products that just didn't do it for me - and this is one of them. I'll have to see what other reviews you've written on these types of products - because you can never have too much information :]

I'm amazed you actually tried it for 2 weeks! Anyway, I was wondering if a person with spinal cord injury could stimulate his CNS with ephedra and so move better. That's interesting...

I think that warning, buried at the bottom of your review, would look better in ALL CAPS. That's frightening information... kind of reminds me of the Phen-Fen scare a few years ago.

sorry try later. grrrr. So to make a long story short, I too tried it even though I quit a job at a gym because they sold ephedra as an add in to smoothies. I too built up to the 12 and felt so sick it was amazing the weight didn't fall off since I couldn't eat. I called the co. and was told to stop taking it and return it to the store for a full refund, which I did. Great job as usual. jo
