I just bought a new 2007 Tahoe and wanted a tire and wheel package. My brother in law told me about Tire Rack.com and I checked it out. I was super impressed, You could see your vehicle with a rim package at any color of vehicle. Awesome tool for deciding what you wanted. You can't do that in the store.
I had some concerns about the speedometer and I was able to look up my stock tires on the vehicle and compare them to all the different tires available. I was able to look at the tire spec for the REVS per mile and got a tire withing 1 Rev per mile.
Website gives you rating on the tires that you are considering. Extensive detail about the tire on the site. If you had this much detail at a tire shop you could make a much better decision. Instead you are asking a person that is making $10-15 a hour , that have never rode or driven on the tires you are about to purchase. It gives you a breakdown of every single parameter. Per the pricing I seen you can get them for a lot less. Even if you don't buy them at the Tire Rack.com you should do your research there.
I ordered them on Wed and I will have them on Friday. Very good turnaround. It surely beets driving around pricing at multiple places. I will have everything already to be mounted when they are delivered.
Only thing that I was concerned during ordering, which I caught was that my vehicle had Tire Pressure Management System (TPMS), which I had to pay extra. This will cost 1 star. They did not flag this when I was selecting my tires.
Excellent staff answered all my questions and very imformative.
I will go back when I have to order new wheels next time, no more wheels from the Dealer, I will buy my own.
