You can buy batteries anywhere but what if you need a large quantity of specialized ones? Such was the case with me when I bought 40 size 13 hearing aid batteries last week.
When you start buying in that kind of quantity, you need to comparison shop and I did. MicroBattery.com won out for price, selection, and ease of use. But did they deliver on their promises of fast delivery and fresh batteries? Yep!
What the Site Sells
Batteries. Batteries. And more batteries. If you have an appliance or electronic device that needs batteries, this site sells batteries for it.
They sell regular and rechargeable batteries for everything including large things like wheelchairs and boats.
Navigation
The home page is cluttered. Photos of batteries are everywhere and there are loads of links. However, it is a simple site to navigate because it is broken up into very specific categories.
They have several ways to find the battery you need. Down the left side are a load of links for every type of product that takes a battery that you can think of. Across the top are more general categories like Micro, Rechargeable, Household, and Auto Moto Marine. They have drop down boxes that specify different items in each category. And there is also a Search by Device method.
There are often several brand names of batteries and many different quantities. I knew I specifically wanted Duracell #13 hearing aid batteries and found them in about 10 seconds because they were on the home page with other brand name aid batteries.
Clicking on any category will take you to a list of batteries and quantities that they sell for the item you need them for.
Because they do have so many name brands and so many different quantities, you may be a bit confused about what to buy. Just keep in mind what your needs are and what your budget is. Obviously, if you buy in larger quantities, the price goes down per battery but if you don't need a large quantity, they sell as few as just one or two of even the tiniest batteries.
Once you choose the batteries you want, click to add to your cart.
If you get confused, they have live help available during their business hours or you can call and get the advice you need.
At any point, you can get your approximate shipping by going to your cart and inputting your zip code. The shipping will update as you add items.
Once you have finished shopping, you will go to the checkout.
New customers will need to fill in their name, email address, and choose a password for checking on orders and for easy reorders.
Returning members need only to log on with the email address and password.
Next, fill out your billing/shipping address and phone number and choose a payment method. They accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AmEx, and Paypal.
Fill out your card details or click the Paypal option.
They ship to the US, Canada, and worldwide.
There are many shipping options you can choose depending on how fast you want your order. Pick one and proceed to pay.
You will get an immediate email confirmation with a link to check on the status of your order on the site.
You will get an official invoice when the order ships. You can expect your order to arrive within the timeframe of the shipping method you chose.
My Experience
It was like butta! I picked my batteries, saw my shipping was $2.10, no tax. I didn't do a lot of browsing but plan to soon. We use a ton of Double A batteries in this house and I may buy a boatload of them and not have to constantly run out to buy them at premium prices.
I paid by PayPal because it is easier and got my confirmation email and, the next day, a shipping email. I chose the cheapest shipping method which is Postal via USPS. They say to expect your order from between two to seven days after it is shipped. With the labor weekend in there, I got my order in five days. It would have no doubt come on Monday, making it only four days, but that was a holiday.
The packaging is simple, just a sturdy white cardboard box securely taped. I did note the invoice in the box didn't have the price I paid on it although the one they emailed me did and my Paypal receipt did.
My batteries are good until 2016 so I am not worried in the least that they will "go bad" before I can use them. Even with shipping added, it came out to about 67 cents per battery. I paid far more than that at the drugstore when buying an eight pack.
Other brands are even cheaper but I am not that interested in cheap. I want quality and I got that for a very reasonable price.
I am very happy with my order and plan to make another one for household things this weekend. Shipping prices actually favor the buyer who purchases in larger quantities so I am not worried about shipping charges at all.
Shipping and Returns
Shipping costs are based on weight and are calculated as you add items. You can chose from several shipping methods depending on how fast you want your order.
You can return damaged items by contacting customer service and obtaining an RMA. Other returns are accepted as long as the items are unopened and new. You may be charged a 20% restocking fee depending on the return. Shipping fees are non-refundable.
The lesson here is to be 100% sure of the type of battery you need when ordering so you don't have to return a battery that won't fit your device.

Conclusion
Billions of batteries! This place has a battery for everything that takes a battery! The prices are quite good, especially if you buy in quantity. Shipping is very fair and my experience was flawless. I ordered, I paid, I received. That is how it should be. The batteries are the correct ones and they are fresh with a long shelf life.
I will go back to MicroBattery.com again and I do recommend them. I give this site 4 stars. It is a bit busy and can overwhelm a person with choices but, otherwise, you can get great deals on brand name batteries for everything you own.
