The Benefits of Memory Foam Mattress are Wonderful

My wife and I ordered the 10" Memory Foam mattress from Healthy Foundations, having to wait 10 days from order to delivery, due to the queen-size memory foam mattress being sold out. We did receive the memory foam pillows and mattress cover in about 4 days. 6 days later we received the mattress. We have had the new mattress for 5 nights.
In 2004, we previously had purchased the most expensive pillow top mattress available from Art Vans here in Michigan. While I was content with it, my wife was not, but she tried to "live with it" as we had spent so much and were not able to find anything better then.
We began researching and looking for Memory Foam in early August as my wife had just returned from undergoing painful back surgery on her disk and found she was unable to sleep on our prior pillow top mattress without having constant soreness and pain. Here I am 53 and she is 38 and my back is fine but she has had back pain for years. Her physical therapist she was seeing after the surgery said we should look into Memory foam mattresses which might help her back.
We came across Healthy Foundations website from locating it on google internet search for memory foam mattresses. What was first disturbing was that it seemed the price was too low compared to the other name brand memory foam we had already priced and wondered do you really only get what you pay for? We also thought we should have a new foundation for the mattress to fit on and did not know if the mattress would be ok going on our existing foundation. We read nearly everything on Healthy Foundation's website and decided to take a chance and order the 10" mattress from them as they promised a refund guarantee if we weren't satisfied. I am writing this because I wished someone that had already purchased this new memory foam mattress had taken the time to tell their views when I was looking at the website.
We knew about the delivery delay as the queen size was already sold out, but decided to order anyway. Seems we missed out on the extra gift card they are now giving away because they only started doing that on the new orders made after August 25th...(bummer)
The memory foam mattress was delivered to our house while we were at work and left by the front door. We unpacked it in a few minutes and just like they said, it quickly expanded to the full queen size. The mattress fit perfectly on our prior box spring foundation, although not as high. When I initially felt the mattress, I thought it may be too hard as I was so used to our prior soft pillow top mattress. We waited a couple of hours, then placed the cover, sheets and the free pillows on it and we were trying it out. No smell of any kind was noticed by either of us. This was the first time either one of us had really laid on memory foam mattress or pillow for any length of time. We had briefly laid on a temperpedic brand at a mattress store, so we had a kind of feel for what it was like but the price there scared us off.
Well, I can assure you of this; the way the mattress allowed us to sort of "sink in" as it slowly adjusted to our weight was a real experience for both of us. It felt wonderful! The mattress was not hard at all. Just supportive enough and not too soft either. It is difficult to explain how the foam feels as it allows you to be supported. The foam quickly adjusts to every part of the body that touches against the mattress. No "gaps" left between the mattress and us. We both laid there watching TV and the smile on my wife's face with her eyes closed was certainly worth the cost of the mattress to me.
For the last 5 nights, my wife has not had the pain she had on the old pillow top mattress and has been able to sleep soundly...... without constantly turning and adjusting her weight due to her back hurting. This has worked out real well for me too; beside the fact I am getting the best nights sleep I've ever had with this mattress......I do snore. Because my wife seemed to always be wide awake before, I would get constantly jabbed and told to "turn over", right when I'm in my deepest sleep. Now that she's sleeping soundly on the memory foam mattress,.....she doesn't even hear me snore anymore! Win/Win for her and me!
We are completely satisfied with our queen-sized 10" memory foam mattress. The memory foam pillows they sent were perfect for my wife, however, I prefer a much "softer" type pillow I can scrunch up, so I am using my prior ones and letting the kids fight over who uses the memory foam one! We have decided to save our money so we can afford to buy memory foam mattresses for our children's beds. We are recommending Healthy Foundations from what we have experienced so far and suggest anyone reading this go ahead and try them out. One more thing.......if you have more than sleeping on your mind, then a memory foam mattress is great for that too!
