My cousin (12 years old) wanted and seemed to "need" an audio system, but he wanted a Sharp, not any other brand. Obviously, I was not going to spend more than U$S250 on his birthday gift, so, I decided to buy the CD-BA120.

Though it seemed an ordinary audio system, I thought it was gonna be perfect for him, with a reasonable 10 watt (RMS) per channel output (about 200 watt PMPO), a 3 CD drawer, a double-cassette deck, and the best thing of all...everything could be operated from the remote control. After I bought it for just U$S (a real steal !).

Mike, as you might imagine, was worshipping his new toy, and while he told me "Look at this, itīs awesome !", I thought "Is it that awesome ?". Without the X-Bass activated, hearing music is a genuine torture and when you turn that function on, everything sounds quite fuzzy, specially if you listen to hard rock music. Furthermore, the equalizer does not help solving this dilemma at all.

The other features this Sharp has got are nothing out of the ordinary, such as the Full-Logic cassette decks, the track memories (to choose the order in which you want to hear different CD tracks), and the AM/FM Digital tuner with 40 (if Iīm not mistaken) preset memories, etc.

The best thing about the CD-BA120 is that it is fairly easy to use and that all the functions (except the X-Bass), work great. And the sound quality...well, I think you already know how this Sharp sounds.
