I'm kind of new to car systems so I was hoping for a few peoples opinions on my selections.

Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 2 Subwoofer
㩦-200W RMS power range
㩈-200 Hz frequency response
or
Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 1 Subwoofer
㩦-150W RMS power range
㩈-200 Hz frequency response

This I'm not sure of.
Rockford Fosgate Punch P3001 Amp---$249.99
𤚞W x 1 Car Amplifier
𤜴 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
•variable low-pass filter
or
Profile AP1000M Amp--------------------$159.99
𤜾W x 1 Car Amp
𤟼 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
•variable low-pass filter

I've never heard of Profile before and given the low price I thought it was crap. But I read some comments on both of them and people actually preferred the Profile over the RF. Can anyone lend any insight?

I'm sorry but I knew this guy was way off base even before he said the most rediculous of closing statements about how Blaupunkt and Audiobahn are worth owning, they're not. Stay away from those brands, and forget everything you read here today.

I have to say that I disagree with many of the points made by the author. I will not go into detail at this point, as I just lost a long reply.

Anyway, Audiobahn is NOT in the upper eschelon of products. The author really needs to learn more before reccomending things.

stop feeding people BS.
----------------------------------------------
bazooka isn't the only company that makes tubes. look at Rockford fosgate.

----------------------------------------------
the best cone material isn't aluminum. they all have their strengths and weaknesses. if aluminum is the best, why don't i see subs such as the IDMAX, W7, Brahma (few of the worlds best SQ subs) using them?
----------------------------------------------
the amount of layers on a voice coil doesn't does tell ANYTHING about the sound quality of the sub. if so..lets go and add 34587 layers of wires to our subwoofer to get that sound quality. the JL audio W7 uses a 2-layer winding..should JL have used 4-layers like the audiobahn? the RMS ratings on subs are just THERMAL power handling of the voice coil..not "the more power i handle..the worse i sound". power handling does not affect Sound quality in any way at all. its weird how many competitors have won comps using 1000+ watts RMS subs.
------------------------------------------------
12's don't hit the lowest without using that much power. power doesn't affect how low a subwoofer will play. take a 12" and 15" of the same brand/model. send it 100 watts RMS and tell me which one will go lower and get louder at the same time. larger subs don't handle more power (thermally) than their counterparts. its the motor of that particular driver that will determine the power handling of the sub.
------------------------------------------------
Audiobahn and Blaupunkt are superb to you. nuff said........ (i respect your opinion..)

don't think this is a flame. but you need to do your research because 10,000+ people are reading this everyday. don't want them to get the wrong idea now do we?
