on the drive bay. One for the power and two for the ribbon cable. The ribbon cable should work on either one but it must be firmly connected.
Not being able to detect the microphone in Dragon is possibly due to the settings in the sound properties. By default the secondary mike port is muted and must be manually set for recording.
Try that and see if it works.

I installed this 2 weeks ago in my PC and it works great. The installation went perfectly and it seems to work with absolutely no problems.
I don't use Dragon, but I have used the mic in the from with no problems. The port for the headphones is even better since I can listen to music without disturbing anyone and since it is in the front I have a lot more room to more around.
Too bad you had so much trouble because it really is a great setup.
