The Bottom Line Why try different methods when you can read this, and know exactly how to apply powder foundation?

The advantages of powder foundation - It will often give you a matte finish, it covers more than liquid (most of the time), you don't make as much of a mess as with the liquid, and it makes you skin feel soooo smooth! Plus, it won't clog pores and cause acne. Yaye!

Attention: For people with dry skin, powder is not such a good idea because it will dry skin. Better go for a moisturizing liquid or stick foundation. Try Revlon Moisturestay Liquid or Stick Foundation. They're great.

I have given you a short review on how to apply powder foundation, but here is one of the best ways to cover up without a cakey or flakey, un-real look.

Using a face brush, instead of a sponge gives more precise application, less of a mess, and more coverage without skipping spots.

An excellent Foundation Brush would be M.A.C 190 Foundation Brush. Sure it's a little dear, (36.00$) but if you really want a flawless face, I advise you to buy it.

If possible (and if the foundation is not yet creamy), dampen your foundation... but not too much (too damp = when you can squeeze out drips of the brush), and dip it generously into the makeup, as if your painting towards you.

Now, you should have a creamy base that is generously stuck to your foundation brush at the end of the bristles, extending no more than 1 cm.

Dab the foundation going outwards in a horizontal shape. It's okay if you have stripes of foundation all over. Now, wash your foundation brush quickly (or just use another one) before the cream base dries, and un-moisten the bristles with a simple tissue. Now blend the foundation with a light hand in a circular motion, still moving outwards. If the foundation already dried, don't panick, it's not the end of the world. Just slip 2 drops of water on the brush and continue your business. In no time, you should have a flawless face. If that is not enough, you can apply one more coat. Beware, don't apply more than 3 coats of creamy foundation, your face will look cakey and un-real.

If you are now at the point where concealing takes place, use a brush to conceal (try a soft eyeshadow brush), and never use liquid or stick concealer... even if it says it transforms into powder. Your powder foundation will get absorbed by those types of concealers and blotch. Use the same thing, a powder concealer. Blend gently.

Ta Da !!! Say hello to flawless you.

Same thing with blush: Only apply powder, not gel, and not stick form. Good luck with your look.
