When I write this comment I inform you I do not write on Epinions for money. I think the rating system is messed up. I have some reviews, which have more helpfuls than somewhat helpfuls and it says overall somewhat helpful. This is quite annoying. I e-mailed one of the editors about this, and she said it had to do with your web of trust. I didn't really understand that one. I think that the majority is what the overall should be. Some great writers have helpful's , but really the review is a very helpful. I think the editor's rating takes up more of the majority of the overall, which I also do not like. Everybody should have the same affect on the overall rating. It's not fair if there is two very helpfuls from non editors, and a somewhat helpful from an editor and the overall is somewhat helpful. The person deserves better. Sometimes this may work to your advantage. If the editor has a better rating than regular members, then the rating will most likely be the editor's rating. The editor must be totally out numbered with different ratings to give a non editor overall. Usually it works toward your disadvantage though. I think the fact you get no money for restaurants and comments is unfair. These reviews have been put effort into him, and someone who wants to make money might spend 30 minutes to an hour and end up getting no money. The restraint thing really confuses me. What is so different about a resteraunt. You are still reviewing something you have used or been to. A restraint should get equal money to everything else. The fact that some categories make more than another is pretty annoying. I notice if I write a review on a book that 56 people have looked at that it will make less than a new movie with 38 people who looked at it. Some people might like books more than movies and then get less money for reviewing a book. Some books take much more effort than seeing a movie. I don't like when someone reviews your review somewhat helpful, and everybody just puts down the same rating. That is a big habit of some people. Epinions should hide the ratings given, and people should rate independitley. Some people don't even read the review and just throw down any old rating. People should actually read the review. Some review's help me to know what to stay away from or to go check out. Thank you for reading my review.
