You mentioned the AMA awards and the winner of the contest for a band without a major label contract. I know most award shows give nods to the mainstream (some good, and lot of plastic) but how cool is it that Dick Clark is trying to be real when it comes to music. At least he's trying to show some indie/undiscovered stuff. Bravo! I say.
I remember hearing this band, I thought they were a strange mix of pop/punk and...... I don't know. They were funky, but they had a cool sound, I think it's great you got to see them.

You're jealous??? LOL This is only my fourth GBS concert! I wanted to so badly do some road trips to see them elsewhere. Maybe next tour!

After seeing Great Big Sea five times already, I am still wanting more and after reading your review, I wished I had flown down to Chicago for St. Patty's Day. Thanks for getting the word out to your fellow Americans about a great Canadian band!
