Unfair Comparison (Reply to this comment)
by macguru
It is a good review in short for people who are trying to decide which package to go for but I think you can not compare the two as competitors which one is best.
The fact is, that the Dreamweaver is an advanced package for Web professionals and the FrontPage is a DIY site design tool for small businesses.
There is too much to Dreamweaver that you can possibly fit in a review and it is a highly customizable program. Extensions for example give you a complete freedom to expand the Dreamweaver functionality even further.
FrontPage is far more restrictive and gives you that "magic" feeling that someone is telling you what to and the way you MUST do (Microsoft), whereas the Dreamweaver gives you much more compatibility with other browsers and controlling the code.
You can not compare the two side to side.
But one thing this review has done well is to tell people, that the Dreamweaver is not for you if Web disign is not your main field and if you are a casual DIY designer.
...and I agree.

Just like this <table>
Chosing the browser to be compatible with? How about how well the regular HTML works in every browser? I don't usually know what browser people are using. People rarely get "browser errors" they get HTML that doesn't display properly in some browsers or with non-default browser settings. Proper to-spec HTML behaves, often WYSIWYG generated HTML doesn't.

You try writing HTML in review boxes for epinions. The thingy arrows are the nearest things this guy could use. If you use the proper tags how would you publish it?
As this author said, you can select what browser you want the HTML to be compatible with. If he'd come across a browser error, you would surely of read about it.

Length of HTML? (Reply to this comment)
by quasar
How about quality? Whether the pages display properly in browsers? Length is minor. It doesn't tell me much of anything about the quality and compatibility of the HTML generated.
You might want to actually use real tags in the review. The ? were very distracting.

me at the topic category :) I hope it is ok with the epinions police that I really didn't read this. I am math phobic so multiply that by a billion and you get the feeling I get when I see whatever you have done here. Though I am very proud of myself that I have this scrolling thingy and a mood thingy and NO I have no idea where else this can go - I have no idea why this is the wrong place for it. I am sure this is a terrific review :) jo

pretty fancy graphics going on this page. :) Now if I could only figure out how to link pages together in FP2000 that have nothing to do with each other, I'd be set!
THOROUGH review!

I was so impressed with your depth of knowledge of both software packages. I would recommend your review for anyone looking for a web page design package.
