I rarely use flower delivery service but there are some special occasions when I do spend the extra dollars for it. My mom was in the hospital this last week for emergency surgery. After a rough start she has just arrived back to her home that is just a few miles from where I live.
Sometimes We Make Choices
Yesterday, I was on the road and wasn't sure if I would be able to give her a quick visit upon her arrival back to her home so I went to FTD online. A fifty dollar order would have been $62 with the service charges. I decided against this purchase and went to a florist, hand picked what I wanted, added a balloon and walked out spending half that amount. Yes, I did spend some extra time and gas $$ to get to mom's, but the visit was well worth it. If mom lived a farther distance away, FTD may have been the way to go.
One Experience
I have used FTD at other times though. The last time was for my wife's birthday. She's an educator and I had flowers sent to her school. It's a great way for husbands to get extra points with their wives!! The bouquet was beautiful and the delivery prompt. She was able to show it off to her colleagues and it stayed fresh looking in our dining room for well over a week after picking out a wilting flower here and there.
The Process
I have an account so all I had to do was sign in with my email address and password. Setting up the account in the first place is simple and painless...until you get to the credit card part. It's safe but I'm still apprehensive about that data on the internet. I do it anyway.
A Few Things To Note
They do not promise a time of day for delivery and there are times they may substitute what you ordered for something else. I never had a major problem with either.
It was good to know that every order I ever placed was delivered the same day I ordered them and in the time frame I wanted.
I do like that I can look up my "order History" My memory isn't all that great and it keeps my few purchases in order.
Though FTD will send extras with flowers like candy, build-a-bear and the like I go for just the flowers. All the flower arrangement I have ever made came in some sort of vase. You can get flowers without the vase and in many circumstances they will give you the price without the vase first and then tell you how much more with the vase. A simple one is $8 extra. They do have many choices.
When checking out FTD offers a simple card to be sent with the order N/C or you can spend another few bucks for a full size greeting card.
I do like that I can have delivery confirmation sent to my email address.
