The Bottom Line It's pretty and easy to use; but beware that the initial "hits" displayed may not be your best options. I hesitantly recommend it.

I had trepidations concerning this site given that it is owned by 5 of the major players in the airline industry: United Airlines, American Airlines and Trans World Airlines, Delta, Northwest, and Continental.
I booked my first trip through them on their second day of business. I input my preferred dates and travel times. I was then presented with a list of about 8-10 American Airlines flights ($152-$179) that were available. None of these flights matched my preferred travel time. There was then an option to "click here" to see the whole list of 164 flights that "match," so I did.
All 164 flights were then listed on one page. As I started scrolling through the page I immediately found 5 flights in the $152-$165 range that matched my preferred times perfectly. In fact, Orbitz had highlighted these flights as perfect matches. Of course, all of these perfect matches were from an airline that doesn't have a major stake in Orbitz, Alaska Airlines.
Why did Orbitz initially only show me those American Airlines flights when none of them matched my preferred travel times yet the Alaska ones did?
Frankly, I believe that it was possibly an attempt to steer me towards one of the airlines that owns Orbitz.
All I can say is caveat emptor; make sure you view all the flights available before just picking from the initial list that Orbitz shows you.
