The Bottom Line A tale of an azz... or is it a tail end?
You have an azz-- chances are, unless you're some odd freak who's had both cheeks amputated. Chances are, if you're reading this editorial, you are sitting on said azz. My azz hurts from kickboxing today. The azz has many a function-- it's used as the source of power along with your legs when punching, and without your azz, the punches would flop meaninglessly against your target, rather like the feeble slaps of a small child. An azz is used for sitting. The gluteus maximus muscle is used in assisting you in standing up from that seated position of yours. The muscles in your azz assist you in locomotion. They are also sometimes considered to be a showpiece attracting the opposite sex. Who, among you females, hasn't lusted over a perfectly fine azz on a guy? There's nothing like an awesome azz in Levis-- yummy! :-) 'Course, if you're male, I'm sure you enjoy the glimpse of a nice azz either in a miniskirt or jeans, or hiphuggers or some other tight article of clothing, or perhaps, even, **shudder**, a thong! Well, guess what? We've come to the point of this editorial-- or is it the butt, sorry, brunt?, where I'm going to tell you just whose azz is in jeopardy here: BadkittyM's! Marcy is a great person, a sweetie with a heart of gold, a wonderful writer, and a possessor of an azz most of us ladyfolk would kill for! And, incredible azz that it is, one can hardly blame her for putting a clothed picture of it on her Eps profile page. Hell, if I had that azz, I'd do the same thing (unfortunately I don't :-( )! So why is this azz, fully clothed in thong panties, so offensive? In PG rated movies like Cocoon, you can see the actress' bare azz as she descends into the pool, without even the merest hint of a thong, or a bra even, and yet this was a movie most people took their kids to see! And why has it caused her to be ticketed and inaccessible by Epinions members, and the general public? I mean, censorship of a person's works just for the exhibition of a clad azz? What is offensive about an azz that would merit censorship of a person's entire account? At least when you're "community blocked," your reviews are accessible to the bulk of the Eps membership who happen to have their content filters open-- so the censorship isn't complete! I don't find her azz offensive, even though I am darned jealous! Maybe it's jealousy about the quality of the azz displayed to the public? I don't know, and I can't imagine the sort of pettiness that would cause someone (or possibly many someones) to file abuse reports about her azz to Epinions. I left originally because this sort of narrow-mindedness was beginning to seriously affect people I was beginning to really consider friends-- specifically, a wonderful friend of mine. And it appears this sort of pettiness and insularity has only gotten worse as apparently the site has headed more and more to the dogs. Reporting a profile pic of an azz of a really wonderful writer isn't exactly making this site more hospitable to Epinions contributors or even to consumers who might be looking for great reviews which, thanks to stupid abuse reports, and silly actions of the Eps abuse team, they are no longer able to see. So what is it, folks, jealousy? If so, hie thee to a gym, and get your azz into that kind of shape! If not, and you happen to be an extreme prude, maybe you should walk around with blinders and a veil at all times, lock yourself in the house when not going to the grocery store, and stay away from the internet! Because, like it or not, everyone has an azz, and many people wear thongs, even to the beach, and even if they really shouldn't, unlike Marcy. Or maybe, you should take a nice trip to Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia, where you will never see an azz, or even a face, or be allowed to speak out at all. You will have your censorship, and your prudish inclinations honored. And, Nirav, shouldn't your abuse folks be chasing down plagiarists, and multiple account holders, instead of persecuting those who happen to show a fully clothed backside? Or maybe racists, or misogynists or many of a myriad of other types of abuse that most of us consider to be actually offensive? Welcome to the new police state, and the Epinions Azz Gestapo! Azz if! A note: I really am in retirement from Eps-- I just had to do this for a friend who supported me in a time of crisis and censorship...  |
