I would use Yahoo email, because of the ease of use and the ease of setting up a new account. Once you have a Yahoo Account, you are able to get other features that Yahoo has on their site. Yahoo email gives you 6megs of space, which is more than Hotmail space of 2megs. Yahoo mail makes it easy for you to set up filters and has a bulk mail folder. The bulkmail folder is good to have to keep all the SPAM out of your regular inbox. Yahoo also has an email alert if you use their Yahoo Messager. The alerts work most of the time, but I've had times when it showed that there was some mail in my account, but I had already checked it and there was nothing there. Yahoo email allows you to send attachments, but to me the process you go thru to attach it, is very cumbersome, so I dont use the attachement feature all that much.
