What can I say..........

Pros:Space, Star Wars
Cons:Juvenile players, SOE, cliched missions
The Bottom Line: Buy this game, play it with an open mind, avoid the official forums.
I picked up SWG just after the now infamous NGE debacle (I won't go into this, too many other people have), and found myself engrossed in the seemingly 'alternate' Star Wars universe I was presented with.
The graphics, whilst not up to the standard of some MMOs (Eve Online and EQ2 spring to mind) were quite simply lush and presented some wonderful vistas when the sun would set. However, further updates have in places reduced the graphics to their component textured polygons. Frame rates frequently suffer due to a very wobbly and poorly designed engine that relies on Windows having as few programs loaded at startup as possible.
The gameplay is, unfortunately, derivative MMO fare with generic mission types being given a Star Wars veneer that fails to hide the already ancient cliches in place.
But I keep on playing, and not just because I love Star Wars, but because the space side of things is so wonderfully detailed and such a joy to play, because the guild I'm in is so much fun to be around, because I know that things are getting better, because against all of SOEs stupidity and arrogance, a great game is there, it just needs love.
