Yes...
It's actually kind of scary, Jessica. :)
But opposites are fun -- if the world were populated by identical clones, nothing would be interesting!!

Thanks for the comment! I know that you're definitely trying to make a fantastic carrier and I'm glad you gave me the opportunity to try this one out.
I hope that you did find my review useful -- I really don't think the scoliosis is the only reason I had problems with it. I have used a few other carriers, with varying success rates, that haven't aggrivated my back... so it can be done. I don't feel anyone needs to consult a doctor before using a infant carrier (or starting a diet... or really at any other time), but that's my own personal view on doctors... nothing more.
Thanks for your comments and have a fantastic day :)

Scoliosis is a serious condition and thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. When customers notify us of their health conditions we always recommend that they consult their heath care provider before trying any carrier.

To each his/her own... (Reply to this comment)

My sister-in-law swears by those sling-style baby carriers. I always liked the "backpack" style ones. Not sure I'd like having the kid on my hip...but I dunno. Liked reading about your experiences though.

Yikes! (Reply to this comment)

How horrible! I have scoliosis also, and I think that you are the perfect candidate for testing baby carriers (if you can survive the torture of the bad ones.) If you find one that causes minimal pain for even your back, then you can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.
My son outgrew his Bjorn at 6 months (his midsection was too chubby to do up the buckles) so I've stuck with our Baby Trekker http://www.epinions.com/content_232490634884 or our sling. He is 1.5 years old and 28 lbs already. I can wear him for hours in either carrier, despite my back troubles.
I nannied a girl that was only 16 lbs at 1 year and the Bjorn was wonderful for her!

He suggests the carriers that are front or back, like the Bjorn ones, because the weight of the baby is evenly distributed on both shoulders.
I honestly don't carry around my baby longer than 20 minutes at a time. It kills my arms. However, if she doesn't want to be put down, I sit with her on my lap. To do house chores, I simply put her in either the entertainer, bouncy seat or feeding chair. If I have to go out or to the supermarket, I take the stroller with me or try to find the carts with the built-in baby seat. I haven't had the need of a baby carrier yet.
I think it is a matter of personal preference. I always thought of carriers as very uncomfortable

I think our children are just as opposite as we are. Isn't that funny? You did a great job on this review. I really struggled to write mine.

Just curious - so how do you carry her around? My daughter is 24 pounds, too, and some days I feel like my body is going to snap in half right at my lower back if I lift her up one more time, and my sling helps to distribute the weight more evenly. Carriers of any kind are probably not wonderful for your back, but neither is motherhood in general. At least (the good ones) make it a little more comfortable. So I'm just wondering how the Doc suggests we raise our babies while maintaining proper alignment, or whatever.

This is why I don't like carriers (Reply to this comment)

I have a thing against carriers. Mainly because my hubby is a chiropractor and knows how bad these things can be for your spine. However, if I was to ever consider buying one, I would get one that distributes the weight evenly on both shoulders. At least that way it won't hurt the back as much.
In any case, I wouldn't be able to use one of these things with my baby even if I wanted to. She is already 24 pounds...
