for writing such helpful reviews. Who would ever think of these things you so patiently wrote about? I'm printing this one. Thanks again.

Thanks Mr. Stockholder,
I've had a few laughs over some of your reviews. Just at the points where you intended to make a joke.
Take care,

I think you are the only one on Epinions that writes about gas more than me.
Thanks

Thanks Dee,
Your support is greatly appreciated. The MH rating is something I really don't care about. Getting the message out is much more important.
Please...if you found this review of interest and you know people who uses these products, pass it on. Even if you don't know someone, who uses unvented gas fireplaces, take a second to write to a few people, like those shown on the bottom of this review.
I live in Canada, where these damn products are banned. Technically, this isn't even my battle. I would love to see more people involved in helping to make a change. It only takes a moment of your time and I think, it could save lives. If you agree with me, please do it, if you don't, tell me why you don't.
Thanks again for leaving your comments.

Gasman

Hey Andy!
Glad to have your comments. Those with ventless gas fireplaces, may not even wake up some mornings. I appreciate that you took time to leave your comments, but this isn't a subject I waste time joking about.
Even though, I understood that you were only kidding. This is something that I take very seriously. As should anyone who live in the United States or within any country that allows unvented gas fireplaces of the type I have described.
Take care.
All the best regards,
Gasman

Hi Tom,
Vented gas fireplaces are many times more appealing and beneficial to your home than a virtual fireplace. The CO danger from a vented gas fireplace is extremely low and the heat benefits are greater.
There will, unfortunately, always be stories about depressed people killing their loved ones. At least until we figure out a way to stop depression.
Again, unfortunately, this article had nothing to do with those who are suicidal or otherwise, mentally unbalanced. This is about sane, rational, well to do people, who buy these products without the knowledge that they may be a danger to those they care most about.
I appreciate your analogy Tom, but, this is targeted to those who want to live and those who don't read these warnings and those who govern the national requirements that regulate them.
Thanks for leaving your views, I appreciate it.

Gasman

Dear Leah,
The fact that you don't usually leave comments says a lot. I hope the folks you pass this on to will read it and learn something by it.
That is one of the most important comments I can receive on this system. I don't care about ratings or about so-called income share. I do care about the people out there, who may not quite understand the nature of the products they are sold.
Thanks for your comments.
Kind regards,
Gasman

the most helpful category for non-advisors like me, you surely deserved an MH rating.

I've been missing my fix of unvented gas heater reviews.
They're always handy if I can't sleep at night - not the heaters(that's just dangerous) - the reviews!!!
Only kidding

I think... (Reply to this comment)

I'll run a fireplace screensaver on my PC monitor. The CO danger is much lower. I will add, in my town, a wacko-depressed dad killed a few kids at home by burning a charcoal briquet BBQ in the house. (He wasn't cooking stuff; just distraught that his wife was leaving him and I guess he wanted to punish everyone else and blame it on his depression.)

I don't normally leave a lot of comments, but I had to leave you one.
This was great stuff! Talk about a lesson to learn. I am going to give this to my family so that they can learn too!
Really informative!

Hi Mark,
I think as consumers we all tend to trust the people selling the products, just a little too much. We also tend to place too much trust in those little "safety tested" labels on some products. The unvented gas products should be setting off alarm bells in anyone's mind.
Thanks very much for your comments, much appreciated.

You know, I used to have an unvented fireplace that I bought mostly because I wouldn't have to punch holes through the side of my house. The more I read your stuff, the more I'm thinking that I should have done more research at the time...
Your reviews are some of the most fascinating and insightful articles about the subject that I've ever read!
Best,
Mark
