Quitting Tobacco with The Mad Russian Of Brookline.
May 13 '02
The Bottom Line Try it and believe in it, but, at least give it one day even if you crave it or not.
I went to the Mad Russian on January 30th, 2002. I was very, very skeptical of whether this would work or not. I had chewed tobacco for more than ten years and have always been someone with great willpower in every facet of life. I would wake up in the morning with the thought of chewing tobacco in my head, what a relaxing feeling i would get from sucking on a wad of Kodiak. I had started to have major problems with my mouth, sores, bad breath etc. and i still couldn't quit. I started to think that i was going to eventually die from this addiction and how sad would that be. I finally went to the Mad Russian and listened to his hour and a half speech and then went into the hallway with all the other people mostly smokers. He then saw us one at a time, made me sit down and think of my best cigarette. I then frantically said "Chewing Tobacco", He said "Same thing". He then made a weird sound and said i was done. I was like that's it, what a ripoff. I then went straight to the bar because that's when i would crave it the most. I craved it a little that first night and was kind of mad that it didn't work. i didn't chew that first night and then the strangest thing happened. The next day i didn't crave tobacco, it still amazes me to think that it's been almost 4 months and i haven't touched the stuff. All my friends are like you just believed in it so much that it made you quit. NO WAY, this guy did something to me and probably saved my life. God Bless You Yefim, because i am free:).
