Let me start by saying that my personal taste leans more toward acoustic, rock, and alternative rock. These songs are my personal favorites for a romantic evening.
John Mayer - Your Body is a Wonderland
According to JM, this song is about making love in the middle of the day. It's a slow paced acoustic song with wonderful lyrics.
Elton John - I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues
This song is about missing somebody. My favorite line is "Rolling like thunder under the covers"
Huffamoose - Wait
Huffamoose is a little known alternative rock band. This song is pure alternative rock and it is definitely about making love. I like the line, "Throw me like I'm wet clay" The chorus goes something like, "Wait baby, wait, I'm devouring your pocket. Wait baby, wait, it's coming."
Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing This song was playing the night my boyfriend and I first danced together. Marvin Gaye is the king of love.
Better Than Ezra - Under You This is a slow paced song. The lyrics are very meaningful, at least to me. The chorus goes something like "Under you, I feel your breath moving out slowly, Under you, let go completely, feeling you take over me, take over me." My favorite line is "And ramen noodles at 4:30 in the morning, well we barely could survive, I was never more alive."
Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody You may know this as the song from the movie Ghost. Definitely one of the most romantic songs ever.
Carl Thomas - Summer Rain This is a recent R&B/Soul song. My boyfriend put it on a CD for me. I was hooked right away. Carl thomas has a great voice, and this song has a great beat.
Dave Matthews Band - Two Step This song has an interesting rhythm. Most people love DMB or hate it. If you are a fan, you will like this song.
