Pros:Fast-action, hard-gripping head, quick release mount
Cons:Like any ball head, not suited for precision adjustments
I am a tall guy, and this pistol-grip head gave my tripod an extra eight inches to work with. The ball grip has an adjustable tensioner, but having used it the last two weeks I have left the tension fully down. (This is with a Canon 20D, battery grip, and 75-300mm lens.)
Squeeze the handle, compose your shot, and as soon as you release, the head becomes one solid piece. It won't move.
The 3265 head is solid metal, can support 5.5lbs, features a quick-release metal mounting plate and has a safety lock for the release lever. You don't have to worry about snagging a strap on it and losing a camera. The mounting plate has a rubber grip top and a folding screw ring for mounting--no screwdriver required.
This ball head is great if you need the ability to quickly compose a shot, or if you just don't want to deal with a pan head. If you're a multi-shot panorama photographer, this isn't for you.
There's not much else to say about this head. It's another great product by Manfrotto.
