...Bev, and I haven't gardened the past few years but reading this review makes me 'antsy' to get good old dirt under my nails again.

Around the corner from us a gentleman has a 'flower bed'...it is sooo darn cute! I want to take a pic of my youngest grandson amongst the flowers in it.

Keep up the great writing...kath

Oh, Bev, you almost make me cry when I read your reviews, recounting your relationship with your children and the values you bestow to them. Growing up, my mother always had a creative project brewing, and now spends her time in her yard. I only wish that when I was a child, I had spent the time side-by-side with her, learning how to do those things that she enjoyed to perfection. What you are teaching your children is invaluable. (BTW, can you really get stuff to grow up in your neck of the woods?--maybe better take Pogomom's suggestion and get some Miracle-Gro!)

I hope your new home has plenty of yard, so you can continue with your passion.

Hugs,

EJ

This write-off has become the premier event on Epinions thanks to pieces of art such as yours. I always believed the best moments spent with my parents, as a small child, were when we created something together. Gardening is the ultimate bonding experience. Mom's tulips and Dad's assistance in helping me plant those peonies and raspberry bushes are as clear today as they were decades ago.

Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful experiences. Your words gave me a glimpse of what it is like to be among the Angels.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your children, and the fun experiences with the garden. BUGS!! I hear you there, I cannot stand a bug I don't care how small or harmless they might look, stay away from me!

Great essay . . . (Reply to this comment)

and thanks for mentioning all those important living skills children can learn working in a garden at their parents' sides. As I mentioned elsewhere, my dad was my inspiration at one point and my godmother in another. I think of them both whenever I'm out in my garden puttering around.

Thanks for joining us, Bev.
