Ok i'll give you the first one, however considering the place is 6kms long and 1 wide length and area are both safe.
I thought it was clear that the Gib and UK Pounds were the same value but only inside Gibraltar. The local currency is useless outside the colony.
I noticed while I was there some merchants would always give you your change in Gib coins and bills even if you paid in UK Pounds. As to how I solved this dilema read my other posts on the place.
Also prior to the adoption of the Euro, the locals had prices in both Pesetas and Pounds as I noted , but if you were aware of the exchange rates as I was you'd notice they sometimes charged more for something if you paid in Pesetas.

Timely review, with Jack Straw´s recent lynching..er visit. I had no idea what it was like. Sounds good.
Thanks for the info.

Some old friends of mine in London once visited as guests of the Governor General. They loved the place. Have only sailed past Gibraltar, but would love to visit some time. Thanks, Tom Barnes

A few comments.... (Reply to this comment)

Good job, but a couple of facts here are a little off.
The currency is the Gibraltar Pound. This has the same value as the British pound in Gibraltar. Outside Gib, however, it is worth less than the British pound (if you can find a place to exchange them.) Even directly over the border in Spain, they will change British pounds but not Gib pounds. Also, pesetas are no longer accepted either in Spain or Gibraltar anymore.
The other comment - Gib is 6 kilometers in area, not in length.
Thanks for a trip down memory lane.
